Tell The Band To Go Home is a weekly celebration of great songs and the people who bring them to life. The show focuses on singer/songwriters by definition, but breaking the rules is a specialty. Folk, roots, country, blues, whatever, it's all just music to me! Featuring the best singer/songwriters from here, there, and everywhere. You'll hear live in-studio performances and talk, as well as interviews with some great singer/songwriters and lots of music that we know you'll enjoy. Great music and good times are guaranteed!
Tell The Band To Go Home at the WECC
by Jeff Robson - May 8th, 2009

In case you haven't heard, our good friend Dom at the West End Cultural Centre has asked Tell the Band to Go Home to be part of the grand re-opening of our most prestigious music venue. We're super proud and excited to take the show to the stage of this esteemed venue, and we've assembled quite a lineup of talent. Local heavyweights Dan Frechette (man of thousands of songs, he lives and breathes music and knows just about every song ever written,) Nicky Mehta (member of Juno award winning supergroup The Wailin' Jennys, she'll be showing off her soon-to-be-born twins in what is sure to be her last gig on stage for a while) joined by her partner Grant Johnson (one of the nicest guys there is, super sound guy, and talented former member of Novillero and many more) for what may be the first time on stage, Lindsay Jane (who has been getting rave reviews for her local appearances and great workshops at the Winnipeg Folk Festival and many more), and her friend Charlie A'Court (a man who also is building quite a name for himself as of late). It's billed as a songwriters' circle with one dorky radio dude thrown in for good measure. I guarantee you a fun, interesting, entertaining night of music and stories that you won't hear anywhere else. This will be an absolutely unique experience that I know you'll enjoy. Please join us. More information at the West End website, tickets at Ticketmaster or The West End. Tune in to TTBTGH for more hype in the coming weeks!
